ED 411, or Curriculum Integration,is all about technology used in the secondary classroom to facilitate learning. Students learned all about how to implement technology effectively, how technology can help differentiate learning, even about digital awareness and digital citizenship. This was done through the looking at Technology Integration Frameworks, completing a Case Study TIP Model, taking a look at Setting the Standard, learning about management strategies, and even creating our own 5e lesson plans implementing technology.
Take a look at some of my work!
Technology Integration
Before we could learn how to integrate technology into the classroom, we had to learn what technology integration is. Check out this video all about technology integration!

Technology Integration Frameworks
Check out this video that discusses Integration Frameworks and how they effect the classroom.
Case Study TIP Model
For this assignment, we looked at several different case studies and answered questions regarding the study. These case studies provided scenarios about using technology in the classroom. We were responsible for identifying the technology being used, how it was being implemented into the classroom, and could the use of technology been improved in the classroom. This gave use a way to look at a real world scenario and analyze what we would do in our own classroom. I really enjoyed this assignment, and thought it was fun analyzing the scenarios and thinking about what I would do in my own classroom.
Setting the Standard
This assignment was very similar to the case study assignment above. We took a look at several scenarios and analyze whether the technology used in the scenario was used effectively, if not, how could it be used better. I really enjoyed this assignment and got a lot of good ideas from the scenarios for my future classroom. We had to give a summary of each scenario, provide a reflection, and state areas of improvement. For this specific assignment I was able to choose my scenarios from the KITE cases. I chose scenarios that dealt with junior high students, which is the grade level I would love to teach in the future.Because I have been subbing in several junior highs in the area, I was able to really engage with the material and compare it to the classrooms I've been in. I really liked this assignment!
Management & Technology Integration
Check out this video all about management and technology integration in the classroom. I had so much fun learning about management strategies and how to effectively integrate technology into my classroom and lessons.
5e Lesson Plan
The final assignment for this course was the creation of a 2 day 5e lesson plan that could be implemented into our own classroom. This was the most challenging assignment, but also the most fun! We had to construct a lesson using the 5e template. There are five sections to this template. These include engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation. Each section must be met using a technology resource. This assignment gave me the opportunity to find and explore new technology for my classroom. While creating the lesson plan, I became very inspired and have been looking into more education technology even after submitting the assignment. While this was the most challenging assignment, it was also the most rewarding!

Final Thoughts
I really enjoyed this course and will use a lot of what I have learned in my future classroom. Before taking this class, I didn't know much about education technology or how to implement it into my own classroom. I only knew a few basic things. Now, after completing the course, I feel confident in my abilities as a teacher to implement technology into my classroom and guide my students in the use of technology. I was very nervous about the class due to my little experience with technology, but I have learned so much and feel proud of myself for exceeding the expectations I had for myself. I really enjoyed this course.
